The International Biggles Association

Let's start by introducing ourselves:
the International Biggles Association is the only official registered organization in the world of people interested in, or collecting, the works of Captain W.E. Johns. It has been in existence since 1985 and in the Netherlands alone we have over 550 members, with more in the UK, Belgium, France, Scandinavia etc.
Our "Biggles News Magazine" (at least 72 pages!), which is mostly in Dutch, is published every three months and members can place a free personal advertisement in it concerning their collections. In the magazine you will find original work by Captain W.E. Johns.

We regularly organize public meetings throughout the Netherlands, with free entrance, selling and swopping, a raffle, a quiz and an interesting auction.
Our members are of all ages and men as well as women. Many of them are, apart from being a collector of Johns' works, interested in for instance aeroplanes and flying, or other children's books.
Of course the I.B.A. has strong ties with the collector's world, the world of aviation as well as the literary world!

We sell many Biggles books & comics (secondhand only to our members because it is so difficult to get them together- and new, to everyone interested) in English, French and even in Czech, and, of course, all kinds of secondhand Dutch and Belgian Biggles paperbacks (94 titles are translated into Dutch). We publish official translations of Captain W.E. Johns' work in the Captain W.E. Johns Uncollected Stories Series (in both English and Dutch). Eleven titles were published until now, 8 of these a Biggles story, twice a Worrals and once a Steeley story.

In association with the I.B.A. Miklo SA publishes a new series of Dutch books that were never previously translated into Dutch. In 2009 this series in continued by the I.B.A. itself.

We also sell I.B.A. stickers and other merchandise and, last but not least, a realistic handmade miniature Biggles book (hardback cover) entitled "Biggles flies again" which can be worn as a brooch (no inside text).
Above all the extensive Captain W.E. Johns Catalogue, with a biography and the worldwide bibliography, 211 pages, 1130 illustrations! In Dutch with an English vocabulary.

If you want to join the I.B.A. then fill in our subscription form and send it to the I.B.A.
The cost about an I.B.A. membership can be found at the webpage of the I.B.A. membership fee.
